Since 2014, Marco has worked as a senior architect at LEVS, focusing on projects that enhance the living environment for diverse target groups. In 2007, he graduated from TU Delft with an extensive study on the social contribution of inner-city architecture in The Hague. His research explored how a building can either stimulate or limit interaction between residents and public space. Over the years, he has further developed and applied this knowledge to complex urban housing projects.
One of the greatest challenges is bringing together diverse interests. Marco believes in the importance of questioning as long as possible and convincing when necessary. This approach enables him to get the best out of a team and a collaboration. Flexibility is essential for well-integrated designs.
As a designer, Marco focuses on connecting different scales, from neighborhoods to building blocks, and from buildings to individual homes. He enjoys puzzling with floor plans to find the ideal balance between all aspects. For him, a strong design is always in balance—a quality that is tangible not only for residents but also for passersby.
