Sustainable gateway to a new neighbourhood
Tender Haarrijn
Contemporary architecture with a natural connection
The architecture combines contemporary simplicity with a strong relationship to the landscape. Wooden volumes follow the orthogonal and diagonal lines of the original landscape, creating dynamic sightlines and connections. The stepped structure emphasises the entrance to Haarrijn and offers variation in scale and appearance. Green facades integrate nature into the architecture and provide cohesion and identity. Spacious floor plans and flexible layouts create an attractive living environment for various target groups, from starters to families and active senior citizens.
Innovative timber construction and circular principles
With a vapour-open timber frame system and CLT constructions, the plan offers sustainable and flexible housing. Bio-based insulation materials promote a healthy indoor climate and reduce the carbon footprint. Efficient use of materials, such as HSB for walls and roofs and CLT only where necessary, avoids waste. The adaptability of the houses and use of solar panels reinforce the project's circular ambitions. The result is a residential area that meets modern sustainability requirements while contributing to a more efficient use of natural resources.
Nature-inclusive and climate-adaptive design
The plan forms an ecosystem that focuses on biodiversity and climate adaptation. Green roofs and facades provide habitats for specific animal species. Native planting supports water buffering, temperature regulation and pollination. Vertical and horizontal green zones connect buildings and nature, enhance ecological value and offer residents a healthy living environment. This integral design combines aesthetics and functionality for a future-proof and biodiverse living environment.
