This week it was time again for our annual construction site excursion. With the entire LEVS team, we visited four of our projects in Amsterdam, Haarlem, Alkmaar, and Zaandam on the construction site.

We kicked off the day in Amsterdam Zuidoost, where the scaffolding of World of Food 2.0 is slowly coming down and the project is taking shape more and more. This ‘city within a city’ will soon have 351 homes above the renewed food court. After that, we visited Haarlem, where Schalkstad High5 is progressing well. An urban ensemble of three towers and two building blocks that combine the urban dynamics of the new district center with a green and water-rich living environment.
Also in Haarlem, we visited the Stedelijk Gymnasium, a recent project by our office neighbors at Brique. A few years after completion, the school is alive thanks to the students and teachers who have made it their own. In Alkmaar, we looked at the progress of De Bonbon and De Waaier, the towers of Ringerskwartier in the former cocoa factory.

We ended the day at the Hembrugterrein in Zaandam, where the highest point has been reached of two residential blocks standing in the forest among industrial heritage.

Every year, we enjoy seeing our designs slowly come to life during the construction site excursion and being able to see the details and finishes up close.
