A new phase is beginning at the construction site of The Blox in Binckhorst, The Hague. The residential tower, nearly 130 meters tall, with 60 percent social housing, is now really becoming visible. The first demountable prefab facade elements have been installed using a scaffold-free system. The first communal garden on the corner of the fourteenth floor is becoming visible.
With shared outdoor spaces on different floors, the design by LEVS creates a vibrant residential character – and that at great heights. We made this possible with technical solutions such as smart BIM calculations for wind loads and prefab facade elements with an wood skeleton structure inner layer and aluminum finishing. In this video, technical designer Maikel explains more about it. Through a livestream, progress can be followed daily. An eye-catcher that is slowly taking shape.
