In the rapidly developing City Nieuwegein area, LEVS and Orange Architects are jointly designing building block C3, named Luifelstede. Here, approximately 100 social rental and 60 mid-rent apartments for people aged 55 and over will be built. This project is a commission from Woonin.
The ensemble character is central. Different heights form a harmonious whole with a park-like residential landscape in the middle, roofs that connect green meeting places, like a waterfall, and natural facade materials. MAAK space is responsible for the landscape design.
Together we created a design vision for this central location between the Nieuwegein City Plaza and City Park. LEVS developed the structural plan for the entire block and is designing the tower, which will house social rental apartments, commercial spaces, and the parking garage. Orange Architects focuses on the low-rise buildings. The contractor has been selected, the construction plot is ready, and we are now working on the final design. Construction is expected to start in the fall of 2026.
