Over the last year, LEVS has developed a methodology to make carbon emissions embodied in building materials quantifiable during the design phase. This allows us to make targeted choices in materialization to bring total building footprint in line with a reduction scheme towards net zero.
Embodied carbon is overlooked all too often. In Carbon-based Design, we build on recent research and present our practice-oriented approach to show how the building industry can take immediate and demonstrably effective action towards a truly sustainable reality.
Sustainability is always part of making affordable, attractive and healthy living environments. Our carbon-based design approach allows architects to make CO2 reduction integral part of a future-oriented building culture.
Highly relevant for everyone involved in the industry, from designers and contractors to developers and policy-makers.
