This summer, we proudly launched Tim® – a biobased construction methodology that makes timber construction more affordable, flexible, and applicable in urban settings. Tim® is the result of an intensive collaboration between LEVS, De Nijs, and Adviesbureau Lüning. Together, we developed an approach around construction nodes: smart solutions that meet all technical requirements of residential construction while simultaneously offering maximum design freedom. This allows for the realization of almost any urban challenge – no matter how complex the plot or how variable the housing needs may be.
The first application of this methodology – conveniently summarized in a compact booklet (in Dutch, for now) – is the TimSet for housing corporations, in which construction nodes are tailored to their budgets, program of requirements (PvE), and housing typologies. This results in a practical methodology that combines speed, quality, and livability without compromising.
The introduction of Tim® has already attracted significant interest from the sector. Ever since the methodology's launch at this year's PROVADA, the audience has responded with enthusiasm. The publication has been downloaded nearly 500 times by peers from our sector: from developers, housing corporations, and governments to architects, consultants, and contractors.
