In Purmerend, we are designing Boeierstraat: a timber construction project with 171 homes for first-time buyers, families, and older people, with and without care needs. Boeierstraat is a showcase for Tim®, the timber construction method that we developed with de Nijs and Lüning.
The project is located in a place where different generations are looking for room to grow and where there is an urgent need for affordable rental housing. A 50-meter accent tower is combined with a four-storey building block, both with a façade of ceramic elements. In the communal living room and on the terraces, residents spontaneously meet their neighbours. The plinth will house social functions that strengthen the neighbourhood, such as care facilities, a GP practice, and a child health clinic.
The project comfortably meets the objectives of the MRA Timber Construction Covenant. The tower consists of CLT floors, columns, and beams, and the low-rise section also includes CLT walls.
