Living Lab Tomsk

Our project-proposal LLTOMSK-ONE is through to the second round of the Open Call Russia #1 of the Creative Industries Fund. The open call aims to stimulate sustainable and inclusive urban development in the Russian context. Our submission is a collaborative project of Dutch and Russian partners: designers, universities, design labs, and local governments. Our analysis of the key challenges and opportunities in Russian cities point to the lack of meaningful public spaces. We therefore suggest an integral design process that serves as a laboratory for the renewal of society and the realization of healthy urban living environments. With the fund’s support for the starting phase, we can make important steps in the project’s further development.
LLTONE tackles the battle for talent and human capital engagement. An integral vision and pilots, combining spatial, social and economic goals, will stimulate entrepreneurship and give students the opportunity to seize ownership of public space and develop self-conscious citizenship. It is our firm believe this will lead to a sustainable and inclusive community in the city of Tomsk.
