LEVS architecten has ceased all activities in Russia because of Russia's attack on Ukraine.
Working in Russia, we have always considered for whom we work, with whom we collaborate, and the societal ideals we contribute to. This has always been inherently complex. Nevertheless, we have come to know clients and partners with whom we share core values: an open and equal society. This is what so many Russians desire. We believe that working together on the built environment is an important way to achieve this. However, it has become clear that these values are now being so heavily attacked in Europe and suppressed within Russia that it is no longer realistic for us to productively navigate this tension in our projects. Therefore, we are stopping our work in Russia. In these times, we think of the amazing people we know there and with whom we will remain in contact.
About collaborating towards an open and equal society: last year we shared an extensive interview with Nika Eremina, the initiator of the Living Lab Tomsk. Read it here.
