The new MRA Timber Construction Pact 2026-2030 (Houtbouw Pact) was signed on 20 November 2025. LEVS was among the signatories. On behalf of LEVS, our colleague Reinoud van der Zijde signed the joint ambition: to realise at least 20 percent of housing construction in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (MRA) in timber and biobased materials by 2030. More than 110 public, private and knowledge parties are participating. This pact is a follow-up to the MRA Timber Construction Covenant 2021-2025 (Houtbouwconvenant). You can read more about what has been achieved so far and the steering group's guiding advice here.

Smart and innovative design with biobased and timber is a high priority at LEVS. Several timber construction projects are currently under development and we are actively researching how we can make smart and feasible material choices early in the process, together with chain partners, that will deliver real CO₂ reductions. Examples include our Tim® construction method and the recent white paper Building Sustainable Neighbourhoods. Click on the links below for more information.
