On 24 June, the Dag van de Architectur, the ‘day of architecture’, took place on the Zuidas, and opened up several recently finished buildings to the public, including our very own George and Ira. The brothers have been in use for some time now, and restaurant Loetje too opened its doors on the corner. Adriaan Mout and Surya Steijlen took visitors on a tour around the two buildings. Against the backdrop of beautiful views overlooking the surrounding area, they talked about the ins and outs of the design and the building process, as well as about the “Escher-like puzzle” of balconies and terraces that Jaap Huisman recently wrote about in newspaper Parool.
