The 110-year-old villa on the head of Cruquis Island has a new destination. In a few years, there will also be new construction here and the villa has been moved. Amvest felt that vacancy was a waste, so we temporarily created an innovation lab at a stone's throw from our office.

The opening was our kick-off for a series of events in the run-up to our 30-year existence in 2019. In the meantime, the villa is our laboratory for research into circular design and also workshop space, graduation workshop for students from the AHK and AUAS, meeting and lunch room for the LEVS team and the address of our Africa design team.

During the opening everyone could pull the handle of innovation and squeeze his or her own stone out of ordinary soil. In this way we make with a hydraulic press also the durable earth blocks for our projects in Africa. AUAS students designed with us a hand-press version for young entrepreneurship in a Meet & Match: light, mobile and affordable!
