Mudbrick-training Sangha

On the site of the Practical Training College in Sangha, Mali, LEVS has organized a training mudbrick-training for 26 Nigerian architects, engineers, and students. In four weeks time, they learned the ins and outs of working with Oskam’s press and the HCEB (hydraulically com-pressed earth blocks), in order to use these in the creation of a new living environment in the North-East of Nigeria, in a region severely struck by Boko Haram. A highpoint in the training was a chance to help build the complex fault roofs and domes of the college’s classrooms and teacher-homes. Learning by doing!
