Almost every month we travel to Yekaterinburg to coordinate the technical detailing and construction of the first three of nine towers of Forum City. Nothing unusual so far from the Dutch perspective. But how different are things in Russia, where architects often are not consulted in the technical execution. In this project we are closely involved and pay careful attention to everything from brick-systems to prefab elements, to achieve our ambitious goals. And great progress is already being made on the building site. The project receives a lot of local attention, and more than half the apartments of phase two have already been sold. A project as far away as this, once again reminds us of the magic of architecture; not long ago there were only the drawings, and now the plan is actually being build!
