Vidnoye

New neighbourhood with human scale

Vidnoye, Moscow, Russia

LEVS designed an ensemble of six building blocks around a green 'heart' comprised of a total of 1.900 apartments in Vidnoye in the Moscow region in Russia. The urban plan borders an anonymous high-rise district on the one side and an undulating and green landscape on the other side. The new neighbourhood, with relatively modest and varied heights, forms a structural unity in its surroundings.

Distinctive ensemble

The new Vidnoye-ensemble is in stark contrast with the anonymous and repetitive flats typical of the area. The variation in height and patterning of the façade within the building blocks creates highlights in both location and scale. This plan answers to the growing demand for a living environment that is green and of a pleasant scale and size, and that conveys a distinctive character.
