New times, new questions, new partners
Surya Steijlen joined LEVS in 2014 as a senior architect and since 2018 as associate. He is passionate about creating living environments that people identify with. His greatest strength lies in maintaining oversight within complex assignments and in connecting design with technical detailing. As a BIM expert, Surya leads the development of technological innovations and collaborations within the office and the wider building sector.
“Real quality of life, that is what our work is ultimately about. And even though we work almost exclusively with BIM models, it’s a quality that is difficult to express. That is what we can add.
Christiaan Schuit has been a dedicated player in the LEVS team since 2009. He is an architect with a fine sense for the social. Involvement with the social process, both within the office and in society, motivates his design strategies. In this way, his designs answer to the needs of a variety of lifestyles today and a livable planet tomorrow. Christiaan is at his best in projects where a mix of functions, users and lifestyles come together.
“Of course the challenges for my generation are huge. Yet in every project, I see an opportunity to find concrete answers.”
LEVS architecten is an ambitious office with a passionate and international team. We are constantly working to improve the quality of life in cities, at home and abroad. We do not shy away from the big themes of our time. Urban densification with sustainability, social housing with quality of life, we show that it is possible. Always at the intersection of urban planning and architecture. Our love for the craft extends from bricks to nature-inclusive design and co-writing the BIM ILS O&E. We have been doing this for over 30 years. It ensures that we not only dream, but actually build. The appointment of two new partners means that we can continue to do this in the future.
