How can we fully integrate circularity in the city? That is the ambitious question which the city of Luxembourg seeks to answer on three separate sites in the rapidly growing district of Plateau Kirchberg. Three design teams, with members from a.o. The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy and Luxembourg, undertook a six-month research collaboration. Together with architecture of-fice STEINMETZDEMEYER and a team of advisors, LEVS designed a circular housing project for one of the three designated locations in the city: the JFK-site. From new lease-constructions for material to strategies for community-building in a dynamic city, we developed innovative so-lutions at all levels of urban circularity. Over the coming months that preliminary design will be further developed for implementation.
